Description
Built with forty-millimeter case-hardened steel conical burrs, the Larkspur Burr Grinder rotates at four hundred and fifty revolutions per minute via a gear-reduction motor. This slow operating speed limits heat transfer to the whole beans during extended grinding runs. The upper burr assembly lifts out without tools, while the lower ring is seated directly into a die-cast metal housing to prevent alignment drift under load. Forty distinct stepped settings range from fine espresso up to coarse cold brew.
Ground coffee drops straight through an ultra-short vertical chute into an anodized aluminum catch container. The metal construction and grounding pin dissipate electrostatic charge naturally, preventing fine coffee chaff from clinging to the chamber walls or spraying onto the counter when removed. A tint-treated bean hopper holds eight ounces of whole beans and features a shut-off gate for easy removal while full.
Brush the burrs with the included horsehair brush weekly; do not use water on the internal grinding ring. While capable of producing coarse filter coffee and traditional espresso, the stepped adjustment increments are too broad for fine-tuning modern bottomless portafilter shots.
