The Larkspur Electric Kettle uses a 304 stainless steel body with a concealed fifteen-hundred-watt heating element beneath a flat interior floor. Water makes contact only with steel and a food-grade silicone seal around the internal temperature probe. Temperature adjusts by single degrees from one hundred to two hundred and twelve degrees Fahrenheit via a weighted rotary dial set into the base. Once reached, an active hold circuit maintains the set point for thirty minutes before powering down.
The balanced gooseneck-adjacent spout pours at an even, medium rate suited to large French presses as well as pour-over cones. The lid pulls off directly with a cast ring handle rather than using a spring latch, eliminating a common mechanical failure point. A small backlit display on the base shows both the target temperature and real-time internal heat.
Descaling requires a monthly rinse with a mild citric acid solution to prevent mineral buildup on the base plate. While precise for water heating, this kettle is strictly for thin liquids; it cannot heat milk, broths, or syrups without scorching on the floor plate.
