Description
The Stonecroft Loaf Pan is pressed from dense natural clay and fired at high temperatures, yielding a vitrified ceramic that stores and releases heat with measured cadence. Unlike thin folded aluminized steel that can scorch sugary batters along the corners, this heavy stoneware sidewall buffers thermal spikes, ensuring that dense banana breads, brioche, and yeasted sandwich loaves bake thoroughly toward the center without over-browning the bottom crust.
A smooth, impermeable glaze coats the interior and exterior, resisting acid stains, moisture absorption, and lingering aromas from previous bakes. The unglazed rim provides tactile grip when turning out hot loaves onto cooling racks. Gentle inward tapering allows baked goods to slide out cleanly when the interior is lightly greased or lined with baker’s parchment.
Dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and oven safe up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Because stoneware is vulnerable to thermal shock, never place the pan directly from the freezer into a hot oven, and never set a scorching pan onto wet marble surfaces. It cannot be used under a direct broiler or on stovetop burners.
