Description
Poured in small eight-candle batches, this nine-ounce candle utilizes midwestern soy wax blended with cedarwood, birch smoke, and dried amber oils. An unbleached, braided flat cotton wick provides an even melt pool without zinc or lead core wires. The wax is cast directly into a heavy soda-lime glass tumbler featuring a thick weighted base, which protects furniture surfaces from excessive thermal transfer during longer burns.
The candle yields approximately forty-five to fifty hours of burn time when maintained properly. On the initial burn, allow the liquid wax to reach all outer edges of the glass—typically three hours—to establish an even memory and avoid tunneling. Trim the cotton wick to one-quarter inch prior to every subsequent lighting to prevent soot deposition along the inner glass rim.
Once extinguished and spent, wash out the residual wax using hot tap water and mild dish soap to repurpose the glass vessel as a drinking tumbler or pencil cup. The candle produces a quiet, moderate scent throw; it will not overpower large open-plan living rooms or drafty entry halls.
