Description
This trio of stoneware bud vases is cast in graduated heights of four, six, and eight inches. Fired alongside each other in a single kiln run, each piece shares an identical iron-flecked matte glaze, ensuring uniform surface tone across the set while retaining minor variations in raw texture. Their rounded bellies taper into modest openings designed to be clustered together on a mantle, console, or dining table.
Because the glaze is applied by dipping, minor flow marks and small pinholes appear near the dry-footed undersides. The interior walls are glazed to hold water for small botanical clippings, fresh greenery, and garden cuttings. The narrow mouths support only single sprigs or slender dried grasses; they cannot support heavy branches or dense bundles, which will cause them to overbalance.
Wash each vessel by hand using warm water and mild soap, then allow them to air dry thoroughly on a rack. Because of the restricted apertures, interior moisture evaporates slowly, so they must dry completely before storage to avoid trapped moisture.
