Description
This cover fits over standard ironing boards up to 54 inches long and 15 inches wide. The top face is woven from heavyweight, unbleached cotton twill treated with a scorch-resistant mineral coating that deflects radiant heat without scorching or yellowing under temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Beneath the cotton sits a dense, six-millimetre needle-punched polyester felt pad that absorbs steam and prevents the metal mesh of the board from imprinting onto shirts, trousers, or linen table runners.
Tension is maintained by a continuous braided perimeter drawcord and an integrated barrel lock, which pulls the skirt uniformly beneath the underside of the board. Two elastic cross-straps with steel alligator clips run across the underbelly to eliminate lateral slipping during vigorous passes.
Wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth when cool. Machine washing will degrade the scorch-resistant coating and cause the inner pad to bunch. This cover is not designed for oversized commercial boards exceeding 15 inches across, nor will it stop moisture accumulation during prolonged high-pressure pressing.
