This expansive footprint spreads a standard seventy-five-centiliter bottle of wine into a thin layer across the bottom, encouraging rapid, passive aeration without vigorous swirling. The deep underside punt offers a secure thumb grip when pouring with one hand, counterbalancing the vessel as liquid shifts forward.
The slender neck flares slightly at the rim to cut liquid cleanly, reducing drips down the outer wall during service. A precision ground-glass stopper sits flush inside the neck opening, creating an unlubricated glass-on-glass seal. This closure keeps airborne dust and fruit flies out of spirits or resting wines during long evenings, though it is not designed to create a hermetic vacuum.
