Description
The Cellar Vacuum Coffee Vault uses a brushed 304 stainless steel body and a mechanical inner plunger to defend roasted beans against ambient oxygen. Roasted coffee naturally emits carbon dioxide for several weeks after roasting. The lid incorporates a one-way silicone diaphragm valve that vents this trapped gas as pressure builds inside, while blocking outside air from returning through the intake channel.
To seal the vault, insert the inner plunger and press down until it contacts the top layer of beans, evacuating residual dead air from the chamber. The perimeter seal is formed from food-safe silicone that seats against the cylinder walls without scoring the metal. A secondary exterior lid protects the plunger mechanism and keeps kitchen dust off the gasket interface.
This container preserves whole bean coffee effectively, holding roughly sixteen ounces of medium-roast beans. It is not intended for finely ground espresso or loose powdered goods, as fine particles can migrate into the silicone valve chamber and prevent the diaphragm from forming a tight seal. Hand wash the stainless canister only; wipe the lid assembly with a dry cloth.
