The Cellar Oil & Vinegar Cruet Pair is blown from clear borosilicate glass with reinforced solid bases that lower the center of gravity. This extra mass at the base reduces accidental knockovers when reaching across crowded cooktops or work tables. Each bottle holds eight fluid ounces and includes a fitted pour spout made from food-grade stainless steel with a flexible ribbed silicone collar that seals securely inside the neck.
The pour spouts feature an internal return airway and an angled lip engineered to cut off fluid flow cleanly. Rather than running down the exterior glass wall, trailing drops collect in the collar recess and drain back into the reservoir. A weighted gravity flap covers the spout opening when upright, protecting contents from air and kitchen grease, and swings open automatically as the bottle tips.
Borosilicate glass tolerates rapid temperature shifts and dishwashers, but the pour spouts require periodic hand cleaning to clear viscous sediment. While ideal for extra virgin olive oil and vinegar, thick condiments like unrefined honey, molasses, or coarse chili infusions will clog the narrow internal vent tube.
