Description
This thirty-two-piece set expands the Stonecroft service to eight full covers, drawn from a single continuous glaze run to ensure shared tonal harmony while preserving natural individual character. The set includes eight dinner plates, eight salad plates, eight pasta bowls, and eight soup bowls. Made from dense stoneware fired at twelve hundred degrees Celsius, the clay body vitrifies thoroughly, producing heavy, durable pieces that hold table heat effectively.
The reactive glaze produces a varied, satin-matte surface ranging from parchment to soft stone grey, specked with faint natural mineral flecks. Rim profiles are rolled slightly to guard against chipping during everyday stacking and dishwashing. Each dinner plate spans ten and a half inches, providing generous surface area without overcrowding typical twenty-four-inch place settings. The broad pasta bowls double naturally as low serving platters for side dishes when entertaining.
The set is fully compatible with microwaves and dishwashers. The vitrified bases are sanded smooth, though unglazed ceramic feet can still scratch soft-lacquered wood if dragged. Note also that thirty-two stoneware pieces weigh roughly forty pounds combined, requiring sturdy cabinet shelving.
