Description
This board cream blends white food-grade mineral oil with unbleached beeswax to maintain wooden kitchenware. Over weeks of daily washing and rinsing, moisture strips the natural lipids from timber fibres, leaving boards dry, pale, and susceptible to cracking. Mineral oil penetrates deep into the grain structure to displace moisture, while beeswax forms a semi-solid, water-repellent barrier across the surface.
The six-ounce tin provides enough conditioner for approximately twelve to fifteen treatments on a standard cutting board. To apply, scoop a small portion with a clean lint-free cloth and work it evenly across the dry wood using firm circular motions. Allow the cream to soak into the wood pores for twenty minutes before buffing away any remaining surface haze.
Use this formula monthly on chopping blocks, rolling pins, and wooden spoons to prevent warping and water spots. It is not designed to seal unfinished green timber, nor will it repair structural checks or deep knife fractures that have already formed in neglected wood. Store the sealed tin in a cool, dry pantry away from direct heat sources.
